Problems with WinCleaner AntiSpyware 5.58 - 2007/02/05 13:03 Hi,

Sorry to be new and with a problem already .

When I installed WinCleaner under Win2000 PRO SP4 everything was perfect. The very next day no problems. But the third day the processor was at 100 % because of WinCleaner. As soon as I shutdown WinCleaner everything went back to normal. Nothing has changed on the computer.

Another user has a similar problem but with internet conection. He is under XP SP2. No internet connection until he shut down WinCleaner.

You know we like the software and we would like to keep it. We are all from a French-speaking forum.

Is it possible that it has a connection with settings?

Thanks for your answers.

Re:Problems with WinCleaner AntiSpyware 5.58 - 2007/02/07 08:59 Hello MacPeter,

Welcome to the forum. We are currently unable to reproduce the problem that you report on our systems and so are not able to see what causes it. We can look into it further if you could please provide us with some more details such as:

1. The Windows verison
2. the IE version
3. System memory and speed
4. List of other programs running at startup that may be conflicting.
5. When does the problem start. As soon as WinCleaner AntiSpyware is started?
6. Does WinCleaner AntiSpyware function when the processor is at 100%?

You could also try to post the spyware report to us and then let us know that it has been posted.

Thank you.

No problems I'll do it.

As I am not the only one. I will have to collect the information .

As soon as it's done I'll back here with it.

Re:Problems with WinCleaner AntiSpyware 5.58 - 2007/02/09 16:01 Hello,

Well, I think I even could have a first half of an explanation :

there seems to be a first incompatibility or conflict between WinCleaner and WinSonar 6.01.08
When I leave both of them together the processor skyrockets

Well, here are your answers:

1. Win 2000 PRO SP4 /Processor 750 Mhz and 128 Sdram.

2. XP SP 2, RAM over 512 Mb, most of them Nvidia 256 Mb and processor over 2.5 Ghz...

If I have more I'll come back with it.

I think there must be more conflicts...(being a beta tester it helps )

Re:Problems with WinCleaner AntiSpyware 5.58 - 2007/02/12 17:41 Hello,

Some more news:

It seems that under Win 2000 PRO SP4 the situation is getting better. I can keep WinCleaner in the system tray.

More next time.

Re:Problems with WinCleaner AntiSpyware 5.58 - 2007/02/13 03:02 Hello,

I think I have some more news.

Under Win 2000 PRO SP4 WinCleaner is back to normal. It seems the update did the trick.

I don't have any additional information about XP SP2 for the time being.
