To access the Spyware Shields list, click on the Shield icon on the left side of the main window. All protected objects are listed in this window. Protection status is displayed to the right of the item name. It is "active" when a item is under protection and "not active" when it is not. Use the check boxes to turn on/off the shield for an item.
Adding and editing Registry Shields You can add registry entries to be protected manually. To add an item use the Add Shield Button. This will show the Add/Edit Shield window. Then select a root key and a sub key to be protected and then adjust some options and settings as explained below. Options - Protect all values and sub keys: all values and sub keys inside the selected root key will be protected.
- Protect only one value named: protects only the one value that you have entered manually.
Changes - Do not allow any changes: All changes to this Registry Item will be forbidden without asking for confirmation.
- Ask for confirmation: A message window will ask for confirmation as to accept or reject any changes to this item.
Display Active Shield name and comment that will appear in the Shields list. To create the shield, click OK. To discard the new shield, click cancel.
File Shields Tab Protection settings for critical files (Internet Explorer favorites, system files, startup folder) may be adjusted here. Protection status is displayed to the right of the file name. It is "active" when a file is under protection and "not active" when it is not. Use the check boxes to turn on/off the guarding for a file.
